So, today sees the first day of Knitting and Crochet Blog week 2012.

Today’s topic is colour…

Colour Lovers
Colour is one of our greatest expressions of ourselves when we choose to knit or crochet, so how do you choose what colours you buy and crochet or knit with. Have a look through your stash and see if there is a predominance of one colour. Do the same with your finished projects – do they match? Do you love a rainbow of bright hues, or more subdued tones. How much attention do you pay to the original colour that a garment is knit in when you see a pattern? Tell readers about your love or confusion over colour.

When I first saw this topic title I went blank, as I didn’t see colour as something I considered that much, but the more I think about it, I think about colour without realising I am.

If I’m making an item for someone else then I automatically pick something that I know they will like, I don’t even think about it (although on some level I’m sure I must do).  Such as Sam’s Blanket, those are not colours I would choose for myself.

In my own stash, I have pretty colours waiting to be used such as;

along with something a little more vivid;

The Grateful Dyed

Even the more subtle colours are still colourful such as this gorgeous sparkle sock yarn;

One of my current WIPs is a rainbow scarf with clouds so I think it is fair to say that I am a colour lover. I don’t always let a pattern dictate to me what a colour should be (sometimes I do) I will consider it’s owner and it’s intended use and take it from there.

There will be more from me tomorrow, meanwhile, if you would like to check out other blogs participating this week, check out this link.

See you tomorrow!

    Well I know you definitely think about color in terms of gifts, since I’ve been on the receiving end of that thoughtfullness. 🙂 Love the sparkly sock yarn on the bottom, btw.

    I like how your yarns have such interesting names! That rainbow scarf looks such fun.

    Love that middle one.
