Okay, so we’re onto day two! My sender revealed who they were yesterday – Hello Natalie! Natalie’s blog can be found here and makes for some good reading.

Well yesterday avid readers may have noticed that Natalie told me to open the card that came with my goodies, I duly did as I was told, but since it concerned my pattern I decided to save it until today.

Beautiful Card

Beautiful Handmade Card

As I hope you can see from the picture it is a lovely card handmade by Natalie herself, I love the colours and think it was a very clever addition as one of the swap rules is to include something hand made.

Inside the card there are instructions to tell Natalie what pattern I would like and then she will gift it to me (again, very clever). The problem here though faithful readers, is that I really don’t know what I would like! I have only ever bought one pattern before and that was for The Bee Keeper’s Quilt.

So, I need your help. I’ve only ever made small items before, and I would say I am an intermediate at both knit and crochet, so I’m looking for your suggestions.  Please pop them in the comments section, and I’ll see if I can find a little something to send to the one that I go with or leads me to my choice – thinking caps on!

You may remember my squeeing yesterday at my mini skeins, well I have popped them into balls ready to be knit..

Mini Balls

Well the (not so) large ball that you can see at the front made its way onto my needles, I knew I wouldn’t be able to resist, check this little fella out!

Puff of Love

Puff of Love

I really LOVE those colours, no, I mean it. Fitting as it’s Valentines day today!

I’m hoping to knit one a night, then you get to see all of them at the end of this blog week.

Thank you so much Natalie, I’m having so much fun with this and you are being very clever with your gifts.

See you all again tomorrow, don’t forget your suggestions!

A shawl. There are so many pretty patterns out there for fingering weight, they’re a quick knit and a great way to show a lovely yarn off 🙂

I’ll second the shawl suggestion – and many knit shawls only take one skein of fingering weight. Crochet (which I love dearly!) will definitely take at least two skeins.

And look at those mini-balls o’ yarn – how cute are they? Hexipuffs seems to appear as if by magic everywhere. 🙂

  3. Oh, I’m sorry, I thought it would be easier for you to choose the pattern – I was a bit stuck as you didn’t have much in your queue and I didn’t want to pick something you wouldn’t like!

The puff looks super cute, I love that you started one right away 😉 hopefully there should be enough for 2 puffs out of each ball.

Please don’t apologize! It’s a fantastic idea, and quite exciting for me! I’ll have a little more time to do research tomorrow though, I am already planning. :0)

Seconding — or rather thirding — the shawl suggestion. Might I suggest Traveling Woman? It was my first shawl and I’ve since knit it again. It’s designed for multiple weights and sizes so you could really customize.
